Soothing DIY Deodorant for Sensitive Skin

Soothing DIY Deodorant for Sensitive Skin

This homemade deodorant is a great option for those with sensitive skin that can't tolerate baking soda. It's gentle and nourishing, yet still keeps you feeling fresh and clean. Plus, it's incredibly easy to make – whip up a batch in just 5 minutes!

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Combine the coconut oil, beeswax pastilles, and shea butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 1-3 minutes, stopping to stir every minute, until all the beeswax is melted. Or I use a double boiler with a stainless steel pour container in a wax melting pot.

  2. Remove from the heat and stir in your desired amount of essential oils (if using).

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and arrowroot powder.

  4. Slowly add the melted oil mixture to the dry ingredients, whisking constantly to combine.

  5. Pour the mixture into your empty deodorant containers and let it harden for at least a couple of hours before using.

Tips:

  • For a thicker consistency, use more beeswax or shea butter. For a softer deodorant, use less.
  • Experiment with different essential oil combinations to find your favorite scent. Lavender, tea tree oil, and lemongrass are all popular choices for deodorants.
  • Because this deodorant is free of preservatives, it's best to store it in a cool, dry place and use it within 3-6 months.

This recipe yields 5-6 deodorant sticks, perfect for gifting or keeping a few on hand for yourself. Enjoy the satisfaction of making your own soothing and effective deodorant!
